Communication Boards for Pre-K Rocks

We are trying to get some communication boards that can be paired with the videos on Pre-K Rocks.  More will be added shortly.  Some ideas on how to utilize the boards is opening them on a tablet or computer, so the student can point to the pictures to request the desired videos.  Additionally, the slides can be printed if needed.

Virtual Family Paint Night

Our talented artist friend, Brittney, has so thoughtfully posted her March 2020 Family Fridays Paint Night class.  Thank you, Brittney for creating and sharing this video with us all.  We appreciate you!  Happy painting!

Acrylic paint colors recommended: white, black, dark brown, yellow, blue, sky blue, purple, and hot pink, and optional glitter (if you dare 😉)

Paint brushes recommended: large flat brush, medium flat brush (angled), detail brush, medium round brush, and fan brush

Braille and VI Ideas

A teacher friend of mine created a "cheat sheet" for us on the CHALKBOARD 😂 for those of us that are helping students with Braille.  I still find that I reference it often for reminders when I'm helping students or creating materials.  Here is an example of how she set it up for us at school.  It is so helpful.  (I will try to link the word documents as soon as I figure out how to do that).  Below is a cupcake/muffin tin idea.  I just painted the baseballs to help illustrate the "cheat sheet."  Students can move the baseball around the tin (aka braille cell) to practice their letters.  Paths to Literacy has some more examples on how to use this strategy.  The last image shows how to use the tin with containers to help students explore textures and sounds.
